What the StartupDiag.us Structural Diagnostic Framework measures, how it computes results, and the limitations to understand before acting on the report.
Built on a structural framework developed through years of systems design practice.
Unlike dashboards that display individual metrics in isolation, this framework analyzes how 8 structural dimensions interact as a system – and derives a unified view of structural strength, balance, and stress.
The core insight: startup failures are rarely caused by one bad metric. They are caused by structural imbalances – where one dimension becomes a bottleneck, or where the system appears strong on surface metrics but carries hidden fragility underneath.
The framework surfaces these patterns from quantitative inputs alone, without requiring interviews, pitch decks, or qualitative assessment.
All analysis is based on 8 dimensions derived from your inputs. Each is scored on a 0–10 scale, normalized for your stage, operating time, and sector benchmarks where applicable.
Maturity of the product and depth of user retention – how well the product holds users over time.
Demand signal and growth momentum – whether the market is responding to the product.
Execution capacity – whether the team has the size and structure to operate and grow the system.
Revenue and usage strength – how well the startup has converted market demand into business outcomes.
Unit economics and revenue structure – whether the business model is sustainable and improving.
Competitive position – external pressure on the market and its impact on structural strength.
Operational health – burn efficiency, runway, and the system's ability to sustain itself.
Growth readiness – whether the system has the structural foundation to support increased scale.
The 8 dimension scores are aggregated into 3 system-level metrics that, combined with phase classification and constraint identification, form the core of every diagnostic report.
Overall system strength. Average of all 8 dimensions, weighted by binding constraints identified.
Balance and resilience. Measures how evenly distributed the 8 dimensions are. High SSI = stable under pressure.
Current systemic pressure. Derived from the gap between the weakest dimension and the system average. Lower is better.
The framework derives all outputs from the numbers you provide. These factors can significantly affect outcomes but are not captured:
The framework provides a structural lens – it does not replace judgment, domain knowledge, or direct due diligence.
It is most useful when:
It is less useful as a standalone basis for major decisions involving significant capital allocation, hiring, or pivots. Use it as one input among several – alongside your own judgment, advisor input, and direct market feedback.
This report is generated by the StartupDiag.us Structural Diagnostic Framework and is intended for decision-support purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional advisory service.
Results reflect structural patterns derived from the inputs provided. The accuracy of the analysis is directly dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the inputs submitted. Scores are directional indicators, not guarantees of business outcomes or predictors of future performance.
The framework does not account for qualitative factors, external market conditions, or information not provided in the input form. Two startups with identical quantitative inputs may have significantly different actual situations.
